The Meigs County Schools Food Pantry monthly distribution is this Thursday, December 19, from 4:00pm-6:00pm. Some special holiday offerings will be included. Any Meigs County family with school-aged children is welcome to drive through

Anyone who has purchased the LED green and white lights from the junior class, please remember to bring these to tonight’s ballgame as we will always black out the gym at the start of the Varsity game. This is a really cool way to get our boy’s pumped for the game seeing the support of their fans in the crowd lit up. All foam green and white sticks will be on sale for $5 tonight so please pick one up before the game at the table in the lobby! Go Eagles!!!

The Eastern Band was able to play at the Columbus Zoo this evening. Thank you to Mr. Frey and the music department for making this possible!


The students, staff, and community came through once again to volunteer their time at our recent blood drive to donate to a person in need. It's amazing to see the impact we can have when we come together for others! Thank you all for your selfless act of blood donation.

Lealah Clark, freshman, has been awarded the Eastern Junior-Senior High School Student of the Month for December. Lealah goes out of her way daily to help others have a better day including holding doors for students and staff, helping new students with directions, supporting her peers, and encouraging other students to show their Eagle Pride. Lealah is truly kind hearted, and always models exemplary behavior. Thank you for everything you do and enjoy your gift card prize!


Mr. Ron Wheeler from the Ohio Appalachian Educational Opportunity Center came in today to speak to seniors about free agency support for first generation college students including additional guidance, financial support, and encouraging all students to take advantage of a great program if eligible. All seniors present were provided a presentation, donuts, Q and A feedback, and the application. A follow up date will be announced in January. Thank you sir for coming in!

Ohio State Patrolman Sims came in today to speak to Eastern student drivers about accident prevention, safe driving, and general education regarding Ohio laws concerning driving. Thank you for stopping in sir!

Ohio State Patrolmen Sims will be at Eastern High School tomorrow at 11am to do a presentation for student drivers in the gym over driving safety.

All in-house students grades 11-12 will be attending a Heavy Equipment and Machinery Career Expo in Circleville on 12/12. The bus will depart after attendance is taken that morning. a signed wavier is required for this trip and must be turned in to the office. Extra copies are available in the high school office. On Friday 12/13, Ohio State Patrolman Simms will be here to speak to student drivers about driver safety. On 12/16, a representative from the Educational Opportunity Center will be at the high school to speak with all seniors about college pathway support at 10am. All seniors are recommended to attend this meeting as much of this information is vital for college bound students of the class of 2025 even if you are a current CCP student. On 12/18, Jarid Bates, the training director for IBEW Local 927 will be at Eastern High School to speak to seniors about the apprenticeship program at 11am in the High School Cafeteria. This is an excellent opportunity for any senior wishing to pursue a local in demand career to earn a living wage with medical and retirement benefits. Additionally, seniors will also be provided a briefing on the Ohio Grow Your Own Scholarship Opportunity to provide financial assistance for graduating seniors considering going into education on 12/20 during 5th period in the gym.
