Welcome back our ELS students, family, and staff!
I want to remind everyone of the drop-off routing for our campus as well as keep everyone up to date on some safety related
subjects that will be important for the 24-25 school year. Parents dropping off their students, please note the attached map .
The K-3, K-6, and 7-12 drop off zones are the same as last year with K-3 directly out front of the lobby doors, 4-6 behind the
High School Building into the 4-6 entrance, and 7-12 located toward the front of the High School adjacent to the Student Parking
Lot. All students dropped off will enter their assigned buildings through their designated doors only.
Reminder: Please keep the bus parking area clear at all times during morning pick up to allow for smooth safe flow of traffic
at all times. Also remember that all buses have right of way at ALL TIMES while on campus. This is to allow them to quickly and safely
leave campus to allow for a smoother flow of traffic.
Note: Teacher parking is located behind the high school there is to be no parent parking beyond the weight room.
The Student Parking Lot is also closed to any non-school students between the hours of 7 to 3. Students must be registered for a
designated spot and follow all school rules and guidelines pertaining to student driving.
Here at Easter Local, I make the safety of our students, staff, and parents my top priority. I look forward to seeing everyone
and thank you all for your cooperation in helping to continue to keep Eastern safe.
Thank you.

Newsletter from Eastern Junior-Senior High School
August, 2024
I hope everyone has been having a wonderful and relaxing summer break! With the first day of school just around the corner, I wanted to reach out with some reminders of procedures, and changes happening around our building.
First, I would like to discuss academic and extracurricular activities available this year. Our High School now has more college credit plus and workforce study courses offered in house than at any time in school history. This is the third year of our agricultural program and we are offering courses within that program that provide students with the opportunity to learn in-demand career skills and potential college credit, AG-Science, and FFA Membership opportunities. Career education is a major component of our district mission statement, and will be a heavy focus area for students on campus while finding their “E.” As for extracurricular activities, we are proud to offer over a dozen programs for junior high and twenty for high school with many expanding beyond traditional athletics. All students are highly encouraged to participate in as many of these programs as they choose too.
With the junior-high’s successful reintegration into the high school building last school year, students in grades 7 and 8 are getting opportunities to study career readiness earlier and exploration of careers is higher than ever before for middle grade students in our building. Students with work obligations who are seniors are also welcomed to meet with myself and Sheryl Roush to discuss schedule options to better accommodate them. Additionally, we have updated our grading scale and graduation policies to better support all students in our learning community. Officially beginning this school year, Eastern Local will operate on a ten point grading scale to better match that of modern college universities and other learning institutions. As for graduation, Eastern Junior-Senior High School will transition to a Latin Graduation System effective with the Class of 2028. For more information regarding the Latin Graduation System, please click the link below or copy and paste into the browser.
