Due to the upcoming full solar eclipse on the afternoon of April 8, 2024, Eastern Local will be closed that day. The eclipse will occur in the afternoon during what would have been the time of our afternoon bus routes. With proper eyewear it can be safe to view an eclipse, but close supervision is necessary, especially with young children. Viewing an eclipse without taking proper precautions may result in retinal damage. Closing gives our students and families the opportunity to travel to other parts of the state in the zone of totality. If you are traveling that day, please be careful and take proper precautions and allow plenty of time for travel. For more information on the eclipse or resources visit our website. If you have any questions, please reach out.
