From: Haley Wilkinson
I am the Director of Outreach with Honor Flight Columbus. Part of my position is leading the High School Guardian Program. Our organization flies senior Veterans to Washington DC at no cost to them, to see their memorials. Every Veteran is paired with a Guardian who spends the day honoring them and listening to their stories. It is an amazing opportunity for our community to not only thank our Veterans, but get to know their life experiences.
The High School Guardian Program is a unique chance for Juniors and Seniors to be part of this initiative. Our program has been updated for 2025 and we are asking students to apply directly to us where we will then interview and select candidates to fly with us for the Fall season. This is paid for by our organization. We will equip them for this responsibility and ensure they are prepared to take on this role. I am attaching the program description to this email. The deadline for applications is Nov. 14, 2025. You can find the links below. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to email or call me.
Thank you for all you do for the next generation. I hope to work together to bring our community closer together as we serve our nation’s senior Veterans.
