Unique Opportunity for HS Juniors/Seniors to Serve Veterans!

I am the Director of Outreach with Honor Flight Columbus. Part of my position is leading the High School Guardian Program. Our organization flies senior Veterans to Washington DC at no cost to them, to see their memorials. Every Veteran is paired with a Guardian who spends the day honoring them and listening to their stories. It is an amazing opportunity for our community to not only thank our Veterans, but get to know their life experiences.

The High School Guardian Program is a unique chance for Juniors and Seniors to be part of this initiative. Our program has been updated for 2025 and we are asking students to apply directly to us where we will then interview and select candidates to fly with us for the Fall season. This is paid for by our organization. We will equip them for this responsibility and ensure they are prepared to take on this role. I am attaching the program description to this email. Gabby Lind finished 4th today in the Girls Sectional Golf Tournament. She moves on to Districts next Tuesday at Crown Hill Golf Course! Congratulations Gabby!

Athletics schedule for the week of 9/22-27

Unfortunately, tonight's Varsity Football game vs. Sciotoville East has been canceled.

JV and Varsity Volleyball beat Waterford tonight both in 3 sets. Go Eagles!

JH Football picks up a 60-8 win over Southern tonight. Go Eagles!

Grandparent Night was a BIG hit! So many BINGOs and a lot of fun for our students and grandparents! Thank you to everyone who came out to play and thank you to our Eastern PTO for hosting this wonderful event for our families!

Gabby Lind finished 4th out of 35 golfers at the TVC Championship tournament. She was also named to the All-TVC golf team. She will be playing at Cliffside Golf Course in the Girls Sectional tournament on Monday. Congratulations and Good Luck, Gabby!

Varsity Football vs Sciotoville East on Friday 9/19 is canceled.

Meigs County families, with school-aged children, the monthly, drive through food distribution will take place at the Meigs Local Administrative office building (formerly Salisbury Elem.) Thursday at 41765 Pomeroy Pike in Pomeroy 4:00-until supplies run out. They will have fresh produce from the Meigs County farmers market, soup and casseroles from the 740 kitchen (Joe Burrow Foundation) Thank you

Please see the below date changes/additions for JH Football. Due to a cancellation we have added a game. We have also added two 7th grade only games to our schedule.

9/29 Home vs. Ravenswood at 6:00pm (7th Grade)

10/2 vs. Federal Hocking will now be played at Home at 6:00pm (Combined)

10/14 @ Nelsonville at 6:00pm (7th Grade)

10/22 @ Jackson at 5:30pm (Combined)
