On October 6th, members of the Appalachian Children's Coalition team including Eastern Staff attended Groundwork Ohio’s Vote 4 Kids event at the Greater Columbus Convention Center.
The event featured multiple speakers who vocalized the need for investment in childhood mental health. With remarks from Governor Mike DeWine and Mayor Nan Whaley, who both shared their ideas on how they would use the office of the Governor to reduce the number of adverse childhood experiences and amount of trauma experienced by Ohio kids. The ACC was proud to have staff at the event to connect with thought leaders and be informed about plans at the state level to address the mental health of Ohio kids and those in Appalachia.
