On November 10, 2022, Eastern Local honors Mrs. Katie Williams with the Extra Yard Teacher Award. The National Federation of High School Athletic Association allowed each school to participate in the Extra Yard for Teachers Initiative for High School Teachers. An Extra Yard Teacher can be defined as an educator dedicated to their students’ success beyond the classroom. This is a teacher who always goes out of their way to make a positive impact, including recognizing and celebrating big moments in students’ lives and student achievement, and always seeing the best in every student they serve each day. We are proud to have Mrs. Katie Williams on our teaching staff at Eastern High School and to honor her with this award. Congratulations Mrs. Katie Williams!
