Long time Eastern cook Diane Buckley recently attended a banquet with her husband, and Mr. Collins our food service coordinator, and Mr. Dettwiller Eastern Superintendent. Diane was honored for her outstanding work and dedication to the Eastern Local Schools at an awards ceremony hosted by the Coalition of Rural and Appalachian Schools. Speakers included (and pictured with Diane) included CORAS president Marc Kreicher, State Board of Education President Paul LaRue, and former educator and entrepreneur Jim Mahoney. Everyone who spoke talked about the huge impact that all school employees have on students lives and how important all roles are within a school. Diane exemplifies this, always working hard to give our students great meals with a warm smile and kind words. We are so proud to have her recognized for her outstanding body of work.
