The Marietta Electrical Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee announced they will be selecting a new class of apprentices.
The cut off date is February 28th, 2025 for applications to be process for this round of selection.
All interested applicants must start the process at either Washington, Meigs, Noble or Monroe County Ohio Means Jobs offices. After completing the aptitude test, the application will need to be brought to the MEJATC Training Center at 27754 State Route 7, Marietta, Ohio 45750 from 1-4pm on Tuesdays or Thursdays for processing. All applicants must apply in person and fully meet the following minimum qualifications (unless he or she has worked a minimum of four thousand hours specifically int he electrical construction trade) to proceed to an interview:
Be a minimum of 17 years of age -- copy of birth certificate
Be at least a high school graduate, or have a GED, or have a two year-associate degree or higher -- copy of transcript or diploma when received
Show evidence of successful completion of 1 full year of high school Algebra with a passing grade, or one post high school course with a passing grade - or provide evidence of having successfully completed the Electrical Training Alliance On-Line Tech Math Course -- official transcripts
Provide an official transcript for high school, post high school, education and training. All GED records must be submitted if applicable
Submit a DD214 to verify military training and/or experience if they are a veteran and wish to receive consideration for training/experience
Present evidence that they possess a valid driver's license -- copy of valid driver's license
Present the OMJ aptitude test
A pool of eligible applicants shall be established consisting of individuals who qualify for oral interview.
Prior to being indentured, each applicant selected from the pool must be at least 18 years of age.
Prior to being indentured, each applicant selected from the pool will be required to provide results of the physical examination and a drug test decided by the Marietta Electrical JATC.
All applicants will be required to pay a processing fee of $20.00. It must be in the form of either a Cashiers Check, Money Order or a regular check made payable to the Marietta Electrical JATC. This processing fee is required at the time the application is turned into the Training Center and is non-refundable.
The recruitment, selection, employment and training of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination.
All applications who meet all basic requirements will be interviewed by the MEJATC. Apprentices will be selected in order of their final ranking.
Selected individuals will qualify after completing a physical, background check, drug-screening and pre-employment training.
Selected individuals must have reliable transportation and be willing to work anywhere within jurisdiction no matter the relation to their residence.
