On Tuesday, Nov. 14th eleven Eastern students took to The Ohio State University to continue their work with The Ohio State University Student Leadership Research Collaborative.
Our students were responsible for running this event with over 400 students and teachers from Cleveland, Central, and Southern Ohio. They did not shy away from this feat; rather, they put in the work to prove that they are willing to step outside of their comfort zone and prove they are doing what it takes to become leaders of this school and community.
In this session, our year two students worked with the OHSAA and others to decide on a statewide action research project and were teamed up with two other schools from across Ohio. Our year one students continued to work to develop a driving research question — one that will bring positive change to our school.
These students are changing right before our eyes. Once intimidated to participate, they now lead. Once intimidated by the diversity of other schools, they now embrace. It’s an amazing thing to see the fruits of their labors paying off at the conferences and in their lives in and outside of school.
Next week, our year two students will host their career fair — the event that will bring last years project full circle. This career fair has been fully planned and executed by the six year two juniors.
Our students are more capable than we know.
It’s a great day to be an Eagle.
