Today, students in grades 6-8 were provided a tour of the Eastern Jr./Sr. High School building led by National Honor Society under the direction of their advisor, Mr. Thompson. All three grades levels met in the gymnasium this morning and Mr. Dettwiller and I spoke on behalf of Eastern High School’s rich traditions of academic and athletic excellence, FFA and career technical education opportunities, college credit plus courses offered in our building, and ultimately, finding your “E.” Our district mission and vision focus on all graduates of Eastern High School finding themselves in one of the three following categories. Employed in a meaningful career path for that individual, enrolled in a post secondary education institution pursuing higher education and skills, or enlisted in the United States Military. The goal of this meeting and discussion was to prepare our students for the transition over to the Jr./Sr. High School beginning next year and to be aware of the opportunities students are handed every day on our campus. I would like to thank our NHS students, advisor Mr. Thompson, and middle school grades staff for their involvement. The tour and presentation couldn’t have happened without you.
