The Eastern Archery program is soaring this season. Each archer has been working hard and has shown great determination. Even though archery is scored on an individual basis, team scores matter as well. Two of the most important tournaments are state tournaments. Over the past few weeks, our archers have competed in the Ohio State Bullseye tournament (March 10th, 2023) and the Ohio State IBO 3D challenge (April 1st, 2023). At each tournament, at least two of our teams placed and earned a spot to participate in the National tournament in May.
At the Ohio State Bullseye tournament, our high-school team finished 17th, and our middle school team finished 6th. Following that, our archers competed at the Ohio State IBO 3D challenge where all THREE of our teams earned their spot at NATIONALS. Our high school finished 9th, middle school finished 7th, and our elementary school finished 9th.
We've also had two of our middle school boys do exceptionally well at each of these tournaments.
The first one is Joshua Jones, who scored a 286 at the Bullseye tournament and secured 2nd place out of 357 middle school boys. Joshua is in his 4th year competing in archery and keeps improving every year.
The second is Emmett Jordan, who scored a 283 at the IBO 3D challenge and secured 3rd place out of 114 middle school boys. Emmett is in his 4th year with the program and has shown great determination to keep improving his scores.
We are excited to see these two archers along with the rest of our Eastern archers competing in the National Tournament in Louisville KY. What a great way to celebrate our ever growing program! Congratulations, Joshua and Emmett, along with the rest of the Eastern archers. Finish the season strong!
