The Eastern FFA has worked hard over the last 9 weeks preparing the new community garden located on Eastern High School grounds. All of the FFA members helped in building raised beds, leveling dirt, filing the raised beds with soil, and planting. The garden consists of a variety of fruits and vegetables available for your picking near the future. We are extremely proud of these students' efforts in supporting the community.

The doors for senior awards tomorrow will open at 8:30 for parents and families. Graduation tickets will be given to senior students after awards. 6 tickets will be provided to each student for floor seats, but students can bring as many guests as they would like in the bleacher seating section additionally.

The 2023-2024 Yearbooks are on sale until the end of the school year! Order today to make sure that you get a yearbook full of memories. Elementary Yearbooks are $20. High School yearbooks are $40. Yearbooks will be sent home with your student the first week of school next school year. Seniors will have to come pick up their yearbooks once school starts back in the fall. Connor Nolan finished the 1600m race with a time of 4:19.30 which earned him first place finish and he now holds the TVC record in the 1600 which was previously set in 2011 with a time of 4:23.86. Connor now holds Eastern High School’s school record in both the 1600 and 3200. Congratulations Connor on your accomplishments and keep working hard!

No TVC passes, or Eastern passes will be permissible and all in attendance must have a ticket unless they are an event worker or approved media agent. Eastern Elementary K-6 Awards Day will be on Tuesday, May 21st at the following times: 1st & 2nd 8:30 - 9:30 3rd & 4th 9:45 - 10:45 *4th grade cookout will follow their awards 5th and 6th 11:00- 12:00 Kindergarten 12:30-1:30 If families would like to sign students out following the awards, they can do so with their child's homeroom teacher.

Due to the predicted inclement weather conditions this week, we have decided to modify the reunification drill to ensure the safety of everyone involved, and to ensure our families have time to prepare. The drill will now take place during the school day and students will be dismissed at the regular time and dismissal will take place the same way it always does. We will perform an evacuation drill on the 9th, but will have the drill completed prior to dismissal. We will continue to look at various safety drills for our staff and students, and are examining the possibilities for a reunification drill in the future. We understand that changes can be an inconvenience, and we appreciate your cooperation as we navigate these adjustments. The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority, and we believe these measures are necessary to ensure a successful drill. If you have any questions or concerns about the modified drill arrangements, please don't hesitate to contact us. Saturday, May 4th, our top 12 AAC archers traveled to Nelsonville to participate in the All-Star Tournament. This tournament definitely wasn't a normal one. Our archers competed with 6 targets that were different between high, middle, and elementary school. There were some regular Bullseye targets, but there were also targets that ranged from a fox, wolf, and the ever elusive stegosaurus. The targets were placed at different distances from the lin, which challenged all of the archers. While they kept scor, this tournament was a chance for the top 12 AAC archers in each division to have a little fun. Awards were given for this shoot to the top 3 archers. We're proud to announce that Jayla Tripp got 1st Place in Elementary Girl, and Emmett Jordan got 3rd Place in Middle School boys. Congratulations to those two. While we did awards archers, coache and parents were also provided with lunch. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the hard work of all the archers.
